Database Systems, Transaction Processing, Distributed Systems, Fault-tolerance, Large Scale Information Systems, Image Databases, and Workflow Management.

Biography
From August 1979 – December 1979, Agrawal served as Project Assistant in the Department of Electronics in New Delhi, India. In September 1982, he came to the United States and first worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Computer Science at SUNY at Stony
Brook. Since July 1998, Agrawal has served as Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of California at Santa
Barbara.
