Research Description

Richard Wolski's research interests include, but are not limited to, Computational Grid computing for performance, and parallel and distributed systems. His most recent endeavors include: Eucalyptus - an open-source implementation of cloud computing that can emulate Amazon's EC2 on your own resources , the Network Weather Service, EveryWare - a toolkit for building high-performance globally distributed programs, and G-Commerce - market-based resource allocation strategies for the Grid.

Biography

Richard Wolski received his Ph.D. from U.C. Davis/Lawrence Livermore Campus in 1994, his M.S. from U.C. Davis/Lawrence Livermore Campus in 1989, and his B.S. from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in 1986. Richard Wolski's origins, like those of most people born in North America during this century, are ambiguous and questionable. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has spent time as a research faculty member in the University of California, San Diego CS&E Department where he researched CS. His research interests include, but are not limited to, Computational Grid computing for performance, parallel and distributed systems.
